You will be the first contact the patient has when entering the office.
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage patient interactions, and ensure smooth office operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and administrative procedures. Prior medical office experience is required to effectively handle scheduling, insurance verification, and medical documentation review.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding patient service at the front desk.
- Schedule appointments using eClinicalWorks our EHR system.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes accurately.
- Collect co-pays and any outstanding balances.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- File and organize medical records electronically.
- Assist with intake procedures for new patients and update patient information regularly.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless clinic operations .
Skills
- Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems platforms.
- Familiarity with all medical insurance plans accepted in the office.
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to handle sensitive health information in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in front desk or office management roles within a healthcare setting.
