We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of medical office operations, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and the ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Experience in scheduling, and insurance verification is highly valued. The Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth office operations and delivering a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
- Schedule patient appointments using EHR systems. Our practice uses eClinicalWorks.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verifications accurately.
- Collect co pays and any balances that may be outstanding.
- Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Manage front desk operations including check-in/check-out processes.
- Support administrative functions such as data entry up dating patient records.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless communication between patients and providers
Experience
- Prior medical office experience required.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, eClinicalWorks is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical insurance companies.
- Demonstrated customer service skills along with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
