Electrical Engineering Manager (Power Systems & Utilities)
Location: Dallas, TX
Compensation: $155,000-$160,000 10% annual bonus
We are hiring a direct hire Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the design and delivery of power distribution, substation, and control system projects. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with expertise in medium and low voltage systems, protection & control, and power systems analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and test technicians
- Oversee design, development, testing, and validation of electrical systems (substations, switchgear, transformers, relays)
- Drive engineering strategy, innovation, and process improvements
- Collaborate with manufacturing, project management, and mechanical teams to ensure design for manufacturability
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource planning
- Ensure compliance with ANSI, IEEE, NEC, and industry standards
- Support customer engagements, technical presentations, and long-term partnerships
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8 years of electrical engineering experience, including 2 years in leadership
- Strong background in power systems, protection & control, and switchgear design
- Experience managing complex engineering projects and teams
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and electrical design tools
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience in utility, substation, or industrial power environments
