Position Overview
Addison Group is partnered with a middle market, family-owned manufacturer on the search for a Vice President of Finance. The Vice President of Finance serves as the senior finance leader and a key strategic partner to the President, responsible for overseeing all financial operations. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution, driving financial planning and analysis (FP&A), supporting long-term growth initiatives, and ensuring operational and financial discipline across the organization.
The VP of Finance will lead the FP&A function, provide strategic insights to guide decision-making, and oversee both the Controller and IT Director to ensure strong financial reporting, systems integrity, and data-driven operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the President, contributing to strategic planning, capital allocation, and long-term business growth initiatives.
- Lead and evolve the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and performance analysis.
- Translate financial data into actionable insights to support pricing, cost management, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the Controller to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with GAAP.
- Partner with operations leadership to drive margin improvement, inventory optimization, and cost discipline across manufacturing processes.
- Provide financial leadership for strategic initiatives, including capital investments, M&A evaluation, and process improvements.
- Oversee the IT Director to align financial systems, ERP, and data infrastructure with business needs and scalability.
- Develop and track KPIs that align financial performance with operational goals.
- Strengthen financial processes, reporting capabilities, and decision support tools across the organization.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and IT team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- 15 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading FP&A in a dynamic, middle-market or closely held business.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence strategy and partner with executive leadership.
- Experience overseeing accounting functions and working closely with controllers.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and collaboration with IT on financial systems and reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a hands-on environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a family-owned business culture.
