Position Title: Senior Cost Manager
Location: Ashburn, VA - hybrid role
Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $55-60/hr (depending on experience)

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8 years in accounting, including cost accounting / inventory
- Ideal experience managing inventory of $85M
- Strong grasp of US GAAP, inventory valuation, standard costing, and production accounting
- Advanced Excel proficiency for data analysis and financial modeling
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute inventory and cost accounting strategies to optimize inventory levels, control costs, and support operational efficiency.
- Lead monthly inventory close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and COGS reporting, ensuring accuracy and US GAAP compliance.
- Analyze inventory and cost data to identify trends, cost drivers, and process improvement opportunities.
- Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, ensuring financial reports are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts in alignment with U.S. GAAP and internal policies.
- Direct accounting activities related to fixed assets, revenue recognition, and inventory for the Spine division.
- Prepare and review reconciliations and analyses for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Partner with FP&A, supply chain, sales, and commercial finance teams to support accurate cost allocation and reporting.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
- Establish and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements.
- Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members to foster growth and performance.
- Maintain adherence to applicable regulatory and compliance standards.
- Demonstrate experience applying ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, ensuring accurate and compliant reporting of revenue.
- Lead and develop a high-performing cost and inventory accounting team through coaching and performance management.
