Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Itasca, Illinois

Assignment Type: 3 month contract with the possibility of conversion

Compensation: $35.00 - $40.00 / Hourly depending on relevant experience

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Support cost accounting activities such as maintaining standard costs, analyzing manufacturing variances, and reconciling work orders.
• Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and variance analyses for management review.
• Partner with plant and operations staff to ensure accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting.
• Maintain fixed asset records and track capital projects.
• Help prepare documentation for audits and compliance requirements.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
