Job Description:
Addison Group is seeking a Leave & Benefits Specialist to support a leading energy and technology organization in Bellevue, WA. This role is responsible for administering the full cycle leave of absence process while ensuring compliance with federal and multi-state regulations. The specialist will partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and third-party vendors to support employees navigating leave and benefits programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer full-cycle leave of absence programs including FMLA, Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML), parental leave, workers’ compensation, personal leave, and disability programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, guiding them through the leave process from initiation through return-to-work
- Track, document, and maintain accurate records for active leave cases and new requests
- Partner with managers and HR to support employees during leave and ensure proper communication and documentation
- Coordinate with Payroll and Finance Systems teams to ensure accurate pay, PTO usage, and leave coding within the system of record
- Reconcile leave schedules and payroll adjustments when employees return to work
- Respond to employee inquiries related to state and federal leave regulations, healthcare plans, and ADA accommodations
- Liaise with internal departments and third-party vendors on workers’ compensation and disability-related matters
- Assist employees with Short-Term and Long-Term Disability questions and processes
- Maintain compliance with multi-state leave laws and federal regulations and stay informed of regulatory updates
- Support updates to company policies, procedures, and internal documentation related to leave administration
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll information
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of leave administration experience including FMLA, disability, and related benefits
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (10 years in lieu of degree)
- Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state leave regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting Workers’ Compensation and ADA-related processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and HRIS/payroll systems (ADP preferred)
- Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
