Job Description
The Benefits Administrator will manage and support the administration of employee benefit and leave programs for a high-volume workforce. This role serves as a primary resource for employee inquiries, ensures regulatory compliance, and plays a key role in open enrollment, audits, and benefits process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans
- Manage leave programs such as FMLA, short-term disability, and long-term disability
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee benefit and leave-related questions
- Coordinate and support annual open enrollment activities
- Reconcile benefit invoices and partner with vendors and brokers to ensure accuracy
- Conduct routine audits of benefit and leave records to maintain compliance
- Ensure adherence to applicable federal and state regulations, including FMLA and ADA
- Identify and implement improvements to benefits and leave administration processes
- 3–5 years of experience in benefits administration, including leave management
- Experience supporting high-volume employee populations
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and applicable federal and state employment laws
- Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems
- Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Government contracting experience
- Experience working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for permanent conversion
