Role Overview
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting across multiple locations. This role is designed for a hands-on leader who can manage the close process, strengthen financial controls, and provide strategic insights through analysis. In addition to technical accounting responsibilities, this position plays a key role in developing and mentoring accounting staff while partnering with operational leadership to support business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting Oversight
- Lead and manage the monthly close process, ensuring all financial activity is recorded accurately and on schedule
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled and supported
- Support the delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to leadership and stakeholders
Financial Analysis & Business Insights
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and investigate budget variances
- Present clear, data-driven insights to senior leadership
- Maintain and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate financial and operational performance
Cash Flow & Financial Planning
- Ensure each location maintains accurate cash flow forecasts and appropriate funding plans
- Partner with leadership on budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide financial guidance to support operational decision-making
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Evaluate accounting processes and internal controls, identifying gaps and recommending improvements
- Oversee financial review and audit processes, including coordination with external auditors
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, coach, and mentor accounting staff across assigned locations
- Support hiring efforts and participate in interviews for finance-related roles
- Train and onboard new team members to ensure consistency and effectiveness
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and compliance
Collaboration & Operational Support
- Partner with General Managers and senior leadership to review financial performance
- Lead financial review meetings, clearly communicating results and key drivers
- Provide hands-on accounting support for locations when needed
- Contribute to special projects and evolving business initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience (additional industry experience is a plus)
- Proven experience leading or supervising accounting teams
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial close processes
- Experience with multi-location operations, consolidations, and internal audits preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Salary : $85 - $95
