Job Title: Accounting Manager Consultant

Position Overview:

Our client, an established and growing company in the Long Beach area, is seeking an Accounting Manager Consultant to provide hands-on support to their accounting and finance team. The individual will oversee core accounting operations, ensure accurate reporting, and contribute to planning and analysis activities.

This assignment is well-suited for someone with a strong NetSuite background who can seamlessly balance day-to-day execution with broader financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the month-end process, ensuring timely close and accurate account reconciliations
• Record and review journal entries while maintaining proper documentation and controls
• Manage capitalization and tracking of fixed assets, including depreciation and disposals
• Administer lease accounting entries and ensure compliance with current standards
• Oversee allocation of payroll costs across projects and departments
• Prepare billing and financial reporting tied to grants and funding sources
• Support budgeting cycles, review variances against forecast, and provide actionable insights
• Develop and maintain reporting models in Excel to assist leadership with decision-making

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Advanced NetSuite system knowledge is required
• 6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with leadership or supervisory exposure
• Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition, and lease accounting
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear recommendations
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
• Effective communicator with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
