Core Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus or van along set routes/schedules.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers during transit (especially students).
- Assist passengers (particularly students) when boarding and exiting.
- Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical soundness of the bus/van interior.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and transportation regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff — professionally address any concerns during transit.
- Keep accurate records as needed (e.g. rider/ passenger records, incident or maintenance reports) — ability to write reports is listed as a requirement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement is required for Bus Drivers.
- Proven experience as a bus driver is preferred (or the ability to demonstrate good driving skills safe driving record).
- Ability to manage and supervise children/student passengers: this includes being able to handle passenger behavior effectively.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Clean driving record and ability to maintain safe driving practices.
- Commitment to personal faith and church attendance
