Fiscal Specialist – Accounting & Finance
Pay: $19.51 per hour
Location: Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202 (IN OFFICE)
Schedule: 8-5 Mon-Fri
Job Summary
Ad-Vance Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fiscal Specialist to assist with financial operations, bookkeeping, budgeting and fiscal reporting. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting support, financial record keeping and accounts payable/receivable who enjoys working with numbers and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including bookkeeping, budgeting and account reconciliation.
- Prepare journal entry requests and financial transactions.
- Monitor departmental budgets, expenditures and revenues.
- Process invoices, payments, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Review expenses to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Prepare financial reports and documentation for management and funding sources.
- Assist with purchasing, procurement and financial tracking.
- Maintain financial databases, spreadsheets and reporting systems.
- Identify discrepancies and communicate financial concerns to supervisors.
- Coordinate with internal departments and outside agencies regarding financial matters.
- Perform additional administrative and fiscal duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three years of fiscal, accounting, bookkeeping or related financial experience required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets and computerized financial systems.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, financial reporting and record keeping.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
- Experience with budgeting, journal entries, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Familiarity with government accounting procedures, financial regulations or public-sector fiscal operations.
