Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Sales Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will review customer inquiries and prepare quotes, specifically focusing on utility projects such as fire barriers and walls that protect transformers and substations. You will collect project specifications and perform intake calls to create budgets and scopes of work. This position requires independent coordination with customers and clients to address business needs, as well as technical responses for cable trays at utility locations. You will collaborate with the fabrication team on equipment and scheduling, gather quotes, and conduct customer calls to obtain project information. Proficiency in Excel reporting, simple math calculations, and blueprint review is essential.

Responsibilities

• Review customer inquiries and manage a backlog of 200 customers.
• Prepare quotes and collect project specifications for utility projects.
• Perform intake calls to collect project information for budget and scope creation.
• Coordinate independently with customers and clients to address business needs.
• Provide technical responses for cable trays at utility locations.
• Collaborate with the fabrication team on equipment and scheduling.
• Gather quotes and understand temp flow for cable trays.
• Conduct calls to customers to obtain necessary project information.
• Perform Excel reporting for projects and simple math calculations for project dimensions and square footage.
• Review drawings and blueprints to obtain scopes of work.

Essential Skills

• 2 years of construction/utility project coordination experience.
• Ability to respond to customer inquiries on project scopes and pricing.
• Basic math skills, proficiency in Excel spreadsheets, and understanding of technical specifications.
• Experience with construction documents and customer support.
• Ability to work independently and be customer-facing, including responding to emails and making calls.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with blueprint reading and project coordination.
• Ability to perform simple math calculations and review blueprints to obtain scopes of work.

Work Environment

The position is based in a small office located in downtown Manasquan, NJ. The candidate will work in an office environment five days a week with a small team of about three people. The office is a family-owned, women-owned business, providing a niche product with limited competition. The candidate will have access to their own computer, filing, and desk. The office is conveniently located in a downtown area, offering walkable lunch options. The role requires office presence, and work cannot be taken home.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manasquan, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Manasquan,NJ.
