Production Operator | Job Description
Assignment Dates: 12/08/2025 – 04/06/2026
Assignment Type: Temp-to-Perm (Opportunity to extend or transition to permanent based on business needs)
Pay Rate: $26.50/hr
Shift: 2nd Shift (includes a $0.75 shift differential)
Position Overview
The Production Operator is responsible for accurately weighing, packing, and handling materials within a chemical, food, or perfumery manufacturing environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work efficiently with both equipment and raw materials. Candidates will operate various production machinery, follow strict labeling and sampling protocols, and ensure proper material storage throughout the facility.
Physical Fit Testing is required
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately weigh and pack products according to instructions
- Operate scales, pumps, filters, drum-handling equipment, Big Joe Lift, and related machinery
- Apply labeling procedures for packing and repacking, including destruction of unused labels
- Collect and submit raw material and finished product samples for Quality Control testing
- Inspect containers prior to filling and ensure compliance with facility standards
- Follow all storage protocols for racks, freezers, cold boxes, and hot boxes
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all SOPs and manufacturing guidelines
- Ensure safe operation of forklifts and other industrial equipment
- Work efficiently in a temperature-variable environment
- Support production and safety processes as directed by supervision
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience in chemical/food/perfumery manufacturing
- Minimum 2 years of experience mixing and handling chemicals according to recipes
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points)
- Ability to pass an OSHA-mandated respirator fit test
- Ability to operate a forklift
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand, walk, or be on feet 60%–90% of the workday
- Frequently lift, move, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Must wear required PPE at all times
- Ability to work in areas with minimal temperature control (hot/cold fluctuations)
Critical Information
- 2nd shift schedule with shift differential
- Production environment with exposure to varying temperatures
- Physical Fit Testing required prior to start
- On-site position; no remote work available
