A global leader specializing in advanced automotive calibration, instrumentation, and control system development tools is seeking a highly technical and relationship-driven OEM Sales Manager. This organization partners closely with major automotive manufacturers to support next-generation vehicle development.
Position Summary
The OEM Sales Manager will lead strategic sales initiatives focused on Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the automotive industry. This high-impact role is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing long-term customer partnerships, and serving as a trusted technical consultant. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of technical depth in automotive systems and proven success in OEM-facing sales environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Execution: Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to achieve and exceed OEM revenue goals. Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across the automotive sector.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and foster strong relationships with engineers, project managers, procurement leaders, and other key contacts at OEM accounts. Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
- Technical Consultation: Apply deep technical knowledge to understand client needs and challenges. Partner with customers to ensure solutions align with calibration, instrumentation, and control system requirements.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Lead the full sales cycle—from lead generation and qualification through proposals, contract negotiation, and closing. Maintain accurate pipeline updates within the CRM.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Deliver timely and accurate sales forecasts, market evaluations, and performance insights to leadership.
- Internal Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison between OEM clients and internal teams such as Engineering, Product Development, and Marketing to ensure successful project execution.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to maintain strong market positioning.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- 5 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or application engineering within the automotive industry
- Proven history of exceeding sales quotas in an OEM-facing environment
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities
- Self-driven, results-focused, and highly organized
- Expertise with automotive calibration tools & processes (e.g., CANape, INCA); Instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and sensor technologies; Control system development, ECU fundamentals, and vehicle networking (CAN, Ethernet, etc.)
