ADA Specialist Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the interactive accommodation process in compliance with ADA regulations.
- Review medical documentation and collaborate with healthcare providers to verify accommodation needs.
- Administer leave programs including FMLA, disability, and state-specific leave programs.
- Provide guidance to employees on leave eligibility, policies, and return-to-work accommodations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and leave laws.
- Conduct audits of accommodation and leave cases to ensure policy and legal compliance.
- Serve as a resource for employees and leaders regarding ADA accommodations and leave processes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records while generating reports and tracking compliance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the employee experience.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
ADA Specialist Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 3 years of experience in HR, disability management, or leave administration
- Hands-on experience managing ADA accommodations and FMLA leave processes
- Knowledge of regulations including ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, USERRA, ERISA, OSHA, and DOL regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- HR or disability management certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or CDMS
Additional Details
- Fully remote contract role; however, candidates must reside in the Orlando, FL area
- If converted to permanent employment, the role will transition to a hybrid schedule (3 days in office)
