Vice President, Finance / Controller

A growing premium consumer brand is seeking a senior finance leader to oversee accounting, financial operations, and strategic planning during a period of meaningful business evolution. This role offers the opportunity to partner closely with executive leadership, modernize the finance function, and help guide long-term growth across a multi-channel business. This is a high-impact leadership position for someone who combines strong controllership fundamentals with commercial judgment and forward-looking financial planning capability. The right person will be comfortable operating hands-on in a lean environment while also serving as a strategic advisor to the leadership team.

What You’ll Own:

• Lead all core accounting and finance activities, including close, reporting, cash management, audit coordination, compliance, AP/AR, payroll oversight, and banking relationships
• Build and improve forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting processes to support faster, better business decisions
• Create financial models that inform investments, profitability analysis, and growth planning
• Partner with senior leadership on business strategy, operational priorities, and resource allocation
• Develop scalable reporting infrastructure and KPIs for a growing omnichannel organization
• Manage and mentor a small team while remaining close enough to the work to ensure accuracy and execution

What We’re Looking For

• 10 years of progressive experience across finance and accounting
• Background in consumer products, preferably within apparel, accessories, beauty, or a related category
• Experience supporting both wholesale and direct-to-consumer/ecommerce channels
• Strong accounting foundation, including ownership of close and financial reporting in an inventory-based business
• Demonstrated FP&A capability, including forecasting, scenario analysis, and cross-functional business partnering
• Experience leading in a smaller or high-growth company where adaptability and resourcefulness are essential
• Track record managing or developing a lean team
• CPA is a plus

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of wholesale operational dynamics such as chargebacks, seasonal demand patterns, and working capital considerations
• Familiarity with ecommerce platforms and ERP environments
• Experience reporting to a founder, president, or chief executive
• Success building or upgrading finance processes, tools, and team structure

Compensation & Location

• Base salary: $220,000–$240,000
• Target bonus: 20%
• Comprehensive benefits package
• Remote role with occasional travel for in-person meetings in New York City
