Job Title: PBS Production Data Analyst

Reports to: Sr. Director of Sourcing, Production, and Compliance

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Product and Brand Services (PBS)

Location: In-office at the Lynnwood Home Office

POSITION PURPOSE

Our company is searching for a talented and experienced Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities along with a passion for retail and problem solving and optimizing process. This role involves using data to help guide our sourcing, production, and compliance decisions and ensure our decisions meet customer demand and drives business success. The PBS Production Data Analyst is responsible for designing and delivering analytic solutions for Sourcing, Production, and Compliance Team Leadership. Through a systematic process of data collection and cleaning, pattern discovery and communicating meaningful recommendations for business decision makers. The PBS Production Data Analyst will partner with leaders on the Zumiez PBS, Buying, Planning, and DTG teams to identify opportunities to increase efficiency, accuracy, and improve profitability.

The PBS Production Data Analyst will prioritize:

  • Eliminate non-value processes through automation without diminishing the end user thought process
  • Empower people to make good decisions to create wins for stakeholders
  • Providing expertise through clear recommendations supported with relevant data sets
  • Delivering optimized reporting that is accurate and concise to drive better business decisions

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret global retail, inventory, and product placement volume data from various sources such as sales, inventory, customer data, and market research.
  • Use statistical techniques to identify and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality.
  • Work closely with the Production team leadership to understand business needs and design reports, dashboards, and tools that aid in decision-making.
  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc analyses to support day-to-day operations and long-term business planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PBS, Buying, Planning, DTG, IT, etc.) to align strategies, share insights, and drive overall business performance.
  • Assist in preparing executive-level presentations and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Continuously monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business, Computer Science or related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst, or a similar role in the Retail or E-commerce sector.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting tools and databases (SQL etc.), statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)
  • Deep understanding of retail metrics and KPIs along with knowledge of merchandising principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to effectively collaborate with different stakeholders including those with a non-technical background.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This job requires individuals to work at the office location
  • Ability to sit in stationary position in an office environment for extended periods of time and work on a PC without limitations
