Description

Job Summary:

Demonstrates a high level of customer service by working with customers, account managers and contractors to coordinate and create material lists for design projects in a timely and professional manner. Create, maintain, and update estimates of various complexity using customer & contractor drawings, sketches and verbal direction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform detailed take-offs on various plans (new construction, remodels, additions and various commercial projects)
2. Size joists, beams, and headers with the aid of manufacturer’s software
3. Create floor joist layouts
4. Interact with truss manufacturers
5. Ensures the copying and scanning is kept up to date
6. Enters bids into the ECS program
7. Stays current with all local and state codes
8. Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, to make metric system conversions, exchange rates, and discount calculations.
9. Demonstrates a professional attitude when approaching work assignments
10. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, self-motivated, sense of pride and urgency, personable, well organized

Requirements

Qualifications:

1. Must hold at least 2 year architectual or structual degree or 4 years of relevant work experience.
2. Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints
3. Ability to work with mathematical concepts and experience with computers
4. Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees and customers
