Zoox is Hiring a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer Near Foster, CA

Senior Supplier Quality Engineer w/Zoox Inc. (Foster City, CA) (Multiple Positions) Assess the manufacturability of new product designs and assist engineering and its suppliers with improving manufacturability. Manage product and process development with suppliers and assess the capability of potential suppliers. Create/lead project plan for key strategic and tactical initiatives and drive them to completion. Anticipate potential objections and bring parties together to build consensus. Provide advanced assistance to vehicle engineering regarding reviewing and providing feedback on validation. Review prototype and production part quality document submissions from suppliers and provide feedback. Issue corrective action requests to suppliers and provide support with their resolution. Provide support to Manufacturing, Quality, and Vehicle Engineering regarding analysis and disposition of suspect supplier material. Drive continuous improvement throughout the supply base using quality and lean manufacturing tools. Independently and expertly conduct APQP process with their suppliers of complex and non-complex parts and assemblies, including the most critical ones. 25-30% domestic and international travel. Travel to San Carlos and Fremont, CA offices required up to 2 days per week. Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Systems Engineering, Systems Design Engineering or related Engineering degree. Requires 2 years of experience in Supplier Quality or Quality position in the automotive or manufacturing industry. Experience must include: performing project management of new product introductions for sensors and ECUs such as TCU and SSD; creating and improving quality systems; drafting design verification plans and reports with suppliers to manage automotive product quality; leading root cause and continuous improvement initiatives for the manufacturing of automotive parts and systems; and using FMEAs, SPC, PCB/PCBA and JIRA.
