We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to work at our Charleston, SC facility. The position woul be in our Commercial Vehicle solutions from the ZF Group provide the capability to shape the future of commercial transportation systems. What you can look forward to as Supplier Quality Engineer:

• Responsible to maintain compliance on Supplier Quality activities for all sourced suppliers as defined by QD83. All responsibilities applicable for Internal and External Suppliers.
• Responsible to develop and maintain Incoming Inspection Plans in compliance with IATF requirements. Work closely with Incoming Inspection and Metallurgy Team to ensure compliance.
• Work with Plant Operations team to understand Supplier non-conformances and notify supplier via Supplier Communication Platform.
• Manage sorting activities related to Supplier quality rejects. Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely response to Return Material Authorization.
• Lead Problem Solving activities with Suppliers to ensure an effective Corrective and Permanent Action is deployed for non-conformances.
• Lead Supplier Non-Conformity Cost (SNCC) Recovery. Work with Plant Finance to ensure debits are processed in timely manner.
• Work with Cross-functional teams to review and assess Supplier Deviations and Change Requests to provide feedback to Suppliers.
• Responsible to Support/ Lead Escalation Level-1 activities with quality distressed Suppliers.
• Support Warranty Group in response to Warranty Claim Management on Supplier Components.
• Responsible to summarize Monthly Plant Supplier Performance Report (PPM, Complaint Ratio, SNCC as defined by ZF Directive).
• Support/ Lead Supplier Maintenance Programs tied to Maintenance audits, Re-validation PPAP’s.
• Working Team Member in External Supplier APQP activities. Work closely with SDE group to execute APQP tasks as identified in ZF Supplier APQP RASIC.
• Lead/ Support Inter-Company APQP activities.
• Active member of Plant Change Management Team. Support and execute tasks as assigned.

Your profile as Supplier Quality Engineer:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required.
• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in production or industrial engineering.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software required.
• Understanding of AIAG and customer specific APQP and PPAP requirements.
• Ability to read blueprints and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) concepts and applications required.
• Strong background in Statistical Quality Control methods and continuous improvement required.
• Strong knowledge of Problem Solving tools like Trial and Error, Ishikawa Diagram, 5-Why, Is-Is not. Knowledgeable on 8D Structured Reporting Tool and 6 Sigma approach and methodology.
• Knowledge of FMEA, control plans, R&R studies, fail safe systems required
• Prior experience with several commodities including: aluminum die castings, forgings and machining, electronics, electro-mechanical (preferred).
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Lean Certified (preferred).
