Position Overview:
The Mental Health Professional is responsible for coordinating psychosocial treatment issues related to patient care. This includes providing comprehensive assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating therapeutic interventions. The Coordinator ensures continuity of care through collaboration with the Maricopa County Sherriff’s Office (MCSO), courts, and community providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment & Diagnosis:
• Prepare comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments, mental status exams, and clinical reports.
• Conduct mental status exams to present relevant findings on patient risk in an acute environment.
• Maintain familiarity with mental health diagnoses in accordance with the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM).
• Treatment Planning & Coordination:
• Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with serious mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders.
• Coordinate treatment with the Maricopa County Sherriff’s Office (MCSO), courts, and community providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Therapeutic Interventions:
• Provide individual treatment and crisis intervention services.
• Conduct short-term, solution-focused therapy using structured treatment plans, goals, and objectives.
• Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational group treatment.
• Collaboration & Case Management:
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address psychosocial treatment issues.
• Present findings to relevant teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Advocate for patient needs within various systems, including law enforcement and legal environments.
• Clinical Reporting & Documentation:
• Prepare and maintain detailed treatment plans, goals, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Ensure documentation is compliant with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent in the state of Arizona.
• Experience in clinical assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions.
• Knowledge of psychosocial treatment methodologies and mental health diagnoses (ICD & DSM).
• Minimum 2 yrs experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with patients in acute environments, such as psychiatric facilities or correctional settings.
• Familiarity with Maricopa County Sherriff’s Office (MCSO) procedures and court systems.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle crisis situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
• Knowledge of short-term, solution-focused therapy techniques.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
