The Zaxby’s Support Center is looking for a Sr. Accountant to join the Corporate Accounting team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of accounting services focused primarily on real estate and marketing entities. This position will also be responsible for maintaining and recording transactions, balancing ledgers, and preparing financial reports and supporting schedules.

This position is based in Athens or Atlanta, GA and allows for a hybrid work schedule that includes 3 in-office days per week.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Participate in and contribute to various GL projects (i.e. new system implementation, streamlining the month end close process, etc.)
• Maintain and edit management accounting task instructions and update as necessary
• Effectively and efficiently manage the monthly GL close process
• Complete and review account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation and complete auditor requests as necessary and work closely with auditors to complete year-end audit
• Communicate with supervisor, co-workers, vendors, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner
• Receive and record all payments and reconcile accounts receivable for all companies
• Maintain an effective records management system
• Perform all accounting functions including period-end closing; enter and post G/L entries, all A/P functions; also, handle all A/R for Zaxby’s Conference Fund
• Maintain logs, enter and balance account data, and generate statistical summary reports as required

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Ability to work with little to modest supervision; ability to multi-task and manage time with little direction
• Intermediate knowledge in accounting principles, standard concepts, practices, procedures & systems within the accounting field; begin to apply knowledge, problem solving, streamlining processes, and enhancing work products with little guidance
• Expertise on specific areas of responsibility but also general knowledge of other areas of accounting; able to comprehend how each area flows and relies to other areas and products
• Work performed with few errors; find errors in self-review and corrects
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment and complete work confidentially
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Basic knowledge in information technology and applications
• Attention to detail
• Excellent customer service/relations with a strong ability to communicate with tact, patience, and courtesy

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience
