Description

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Has the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing services for the designated work shift.
2. Is responsible for the maintenance of nursing services objective, standards of nursing practice, and nursing policies and procedures as written or directed by the Director of Nursing Services.
3. Will make rounds to see all residents at least three (3) times per shift.
4. Prepares, administers, documents and orders medications given to residents in the facility in a timely manner and according to facility protocol.
5. Is responsible for performing treatments on residents per physician orders.
6. Assumes a leadership role in directing the duties of nursing assistants on a designated shift.
7. Maintains all emergency equipment- checks to see that all equipment is on the tray, properly dated and current.
