Zap Energy is Hiring a Construction Project Coordinator Near Everett, WA

Zap Energy is a fast-growing company that is developing a novel technology that will make fusion energy a reality. We’re looking for a Construction Project Coordinator who has experience administering and organizing all types of projects, from simple activities to more complex plans. This person will bring previous experience in similar roles within a manufacturing, industrial, commercial, or technology environment. This coordinator will have a hands-on role in the execution of facilities and construction projects that support the infrastructure and engineering of fusion plasma devices.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Track project tasks within internal tools (Excel, Jira, etc.) and provide status updates to internal clients and the facilities and construction team supervision.
  • Collaborate with internal clients across disciplines to identify scope, priorities, resource requirements, and coordination interfaces.
  • Track detailed financials (budget, actuals, and variances) for the facilities and construction team as well as for projects that the facilities and construction team support.
  • Work closely with the supply chain team to procure equipment and materials and track from order through delivery.
  • Develop rough order of magnitude estimates for single and multi-trade work.
  • Contribute to and/or develop construction schedules to include engineering, materials lead times, permitting, and construction for those activities managed by the facilities and construction team.
  • Support document management, project closeout, and turnover to facilities operation.
  • Facilitating building and trade permits and internal/external coordination where Zap Energy is responsible for the permit.
  • Support the Construction Manager in establishing contracts with a range of potential design-build and construction contractors.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks.
  • Assist with development and management of quality control and quality assurance processes and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:Required:
  • Proven experience as a project or construction coordinator or in construction management with 5 years of experience.
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans using software tools.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Word (including templates), PowerPoint (building presentations), and Excel (creating and managing spreadsheets).
  • Strong client-orientation, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize workload, but also work collaboratively and effectively with other team members.
  • Highly resourceful when tasked with executing outside of current toolset.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management.
  • Knowledge of City of Everett and City of Mukilteo permitting processes.
  • 5 years of experience in an electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, or plumbing construction trade.
  • Experience with commissioning systems and an understanding of how to build up to full-system turnover.
  • Experience with JIRA Service Manager, Smartsheet, Bluebeam and highly skilled in Microsoft Excel
  • Project Management Institute certification or equivalent
The estimated salary range for this position is $85k - $110k. Candidates may be considered for other positions at Zap Energy and actual salary will be based on relevant education, experience, and other qualifications. Range is published in accordance with Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act.
