Job description
JVIC is currently seeking an experienced shop QA/QC Pipe Inspector. Pay is $34-38 depending on experience and qualifications, no Per diem is offered.
Position Summary
QA/QC Pipe Inspector will Inspect welds and pipe spools, test for defects, and deviations from specifications (ASME B31.3, B31.1 and ASME VIII) and will use weld measuring instruments.
Qualification Highlights
Preferred 3 years’ experience working as Pipewelder.
Must have 1 years’ experience as QC inspector.
Must have Pipe experience and must be able to Read ISOs, and support details, manuals, or other materials and specifications.
Must possess extensive knowledge of Visual inspection and testing procedures.
Must be able to meet all physical requirements. Must have all required tools. Must have reliable transportation.
Position Responsibilities
Read and interpret ISO’s, manuals, and specifications. Inspect and test material installations, work for conformance to mechanical specifications. Provide information regarding processes and specifications to mechanical supervisors and other appropriate members. Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems. Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.
Required Qualifications
Preferred 3 years’ experiences as a Pipewelder. Must have knowledge of inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods and certification processes. Must be a team player and have effective communication skill in dealing with co-workers and any other work related contacts. Must have Extensive knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction. Must be able to use problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks. Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures. Must have reliable transportation.
Certifications
Required to have Previous LVL II with 210 hours of documented experience and ability to retest as JVIC LVL II VT.
Must be able to pass visual acuity to Jaeger J1 standard.
Current AWS CWI is a plus.
NDE Qualifications in RT, PT, and MT is a plus
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting. Will talk and hear to communicate. Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull: objects, materials, controls and tools with up to 70 ft-lbs of pressure. May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. Must have good visual acuity and depth perception. Must be able to work outside in the changing weather conditions including in the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and leather work boots.
