ZABA Therapy is Hiring a Part-time Behavior Technician (ABA Therapy) - In Training Near Hamden, CT

Behavior Technician (ABA Therapy):

Company: ZABA Therapy is dedicated to improving the lives of children diagnosed with autism and we have highly trained teams led by BCBA-Ds (Doctoral level Behavior Analysts) and offer comprehensive early intensive behavioral intervention (ABA) for children and focused ABA services for older school-aged children.

Behavior Technician in Training: The Behavior Technician in training participates in learning activities both online and remotely live as well as in-person with a without clients present. After demonstrating professionalism, mastery of critical skills for delivering ABA services, and on-the-job training with BCBA coaching, the BTT works 1:1 in learner homes and in the community delivering ABA programming.

You must be enthusiastic, reliable, professional, and demonstrate that you can learn new skills quickly and implement them with children diagnosed with autism.

Must be able to get to clinic in the afternoons for training and be on time for each training session. After training is completed and you are in a home program, must be able to arrive on time and be reliable for your chosen home program location(s) and schedule(s).

Behavior Technician Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all scheduled online and in-person training
  • Demonstrate professionalism
  • Master all skills within the allotted timeframes for both live online, asynchronous online, and in-person training components.
  • Reliably get to clients on time
  • sustain enthusiastic, positive interactions with young children throughout 2-4 hour sessions.
  • Demonstrate the 7 components of gaining instructional control rapidly in training and in person with clients.
  • Structure therapy sessions and follow the treatment plan development by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Use a variety of applied behavioral procedures to teach communication, social skills, daily living, and play skills.
  • Tailor interactions to fit the tone, volume, and appropriate language for the learner’s age and environment
  • Implement behavior plans to reduce and eliminate targeted problem behaviors.
  • Provide assistance to the family to ensure a high-quality learning and living environment for the learner.
  • Collect data for all programming using automated data collection tools

Behavior Technician in Training Job Requirements:

  • Must Have 1 yr of experience working in a daycare or preschool setting with children or early childhood education associates degree.
  • Must have reliable transportation, an active license, and be able to arrive on time and avoid cancellations
  • Mudst be able to pass a comprehensive background check and driving record check.

Behavior Technician Benefits:

  • Ongoing, paid advanced training in applied behavior analysis led by BCBA-Ds
  • Free supervision by doctoral-level BCBAs for graduate students as long as you work for us and remain an active employee

Pay: $17 to start. After you demonstrate mastery of skills and professionalism, and reliability, you will move to $18/hr. After you complete all training in every skill area and have been working with a client for 1 month without issues related to cancelations, skills, and BT reponsibilities for data collection and treatment plan implementation, you will move to $19/hr. After 4 months of successfully working your afternoon schedule consistently without absentee gaps and positive parent and BCBA skill, professionalism, and reliability ratings you will move to $20/hr. Raises will come every 3-5 months after that based on continued performance and continued professionalism and reliability ratings from both BCBAs and parents. You will also be considered for full-time at this point if desired.

You will accrue PTO and Sick Leave for every hour worked and it can be used if a client cancels a session which does occur. Any unused PTO and Sick Leave can be cashed out once a year in July if desired. PTO and Sick leave continue accruing over time if not used and will not reset at the end of a year.
