Summary Description: This position is responsible for driving strategic talent and development initiatives, which includes leading the company's talent practices in assessing skills, capabilities, and performance, and providing programs and tools to identify, attract, develop, and retain top talent. This position will lead the strategy and ongoing oversight of the company's talent and performance management needs and will develop plans that result in the achievement of business objectives through enhanced performance.
Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements, and manages strategic talent initiatives such as talent acquisition practices, talent management programs, performance and career management, goal setting, performance assessments, talent reviews, succession planning, and other development programs and processes.
  • Promotes leadership learning and development by creating and managing contemporary programs to meet the company's talent needs.
  • Leads the research, development, implementation, maintenance, and measurement of talent acquisition, performance management, and leadership development programs and solutions.
  • Continuously measures progress on leadership and development programs. Presents strategies and reports outcomes to members of senior leadership.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor and provides consultation through thought leadership and strategic direction on the development of a talent and development strategy. Leads large-scale change management efforts, programs, tools, and education needed to help achieve alignment of strategy.
  • Partners with stakeholders to plan and oversee the delivery of leadership development based on skills assessment, performance management and needs of the organization.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and implements appropriate best practices and tools to source and hire talent, to assess and measure talent, and to link performance to business objectives.
  • Utilizes tools and systems to identify "ready to promote talent" and "at-risk talent."
  • Leads succession planning and talent assessment efforts and provides summaries and/or presentations for leadership.
  • Identifies competency requirements and processes for measuring strengths and opportunities, along with development programs and tools to drive and enhance leadership effectiveness at all levels.
  • Provides guidance and oversight of Corporate Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence.
  • Oversees all talent and development programs in partnership with pertinent stakeholders and members of senior leadership. Analyzes information and provides summaries/reports.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of educational and work experience required
  • Master's degree preferred
Experience:
  • 5 years' experience supervising others at various organizational levels, preferably at a regional or higher level
  • Experience in designing comprehensive talent and development programs with a strong understanding of external best practices
  • Experience leading large-scale transformations in tight partnership with business leadership
  • 9 experience preferably in restaurant, retail, hospitality and/or similar industry
Knowledge, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Visio (as applicable)
  • Proficiency in Workday (as applicable)
  • Advanced ability to communicate, influence and negotiate decisions while motivating staff
  • Advanced ability to create and implement given strategic direction
  • Ability to work in a team environment
Professional Certification:
  • Certification on the delivery of recognized personality, behavioral and/or cognitive assessment tool(s) is preferred (examples include Predictive Index, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, DiSC, etc.).
Working Conditions/Travel Requirements:
  • Expected to work the necessary time to satisfactorily fulfill job responsibilities
  • Must be able to report to work timely and as required by operational/business needs
  • Must be able to work a full-time schedule and work outside of normal business hours when necessary
  • Some travel, both locally and long distances, (including air travel), to worksites, meeting sites, and other locations may be necessary
