What You'll Do

As the Outcome and Evaluation Specialist, you'll work on a wide variety of strategic data projects in order to help us understand the experiences and outcomes of our program participants and identify successes, areas for improvement, and gaps/inequities in services.

This position has a strong social justice component that will require critical thinking around how external systems impact the work that we are doing through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty. Knowing the core principles of antiracism work and grounding those principles in everyday work, as well as working well in non-white environments and championing anti-racism policy, are required job skills and core values.

ABOUT OUR TEAM:

We are a small team of data specialists who maintain and support YWCA client data systems and infrastructure, ensure data quality, and work to make client data collection and analysis open and accessible to all, in order to advance YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. Expectations of your role:

  • Data Outcomes and Impact
  • Compile outcome data reports for agency-wide and programmatic purposes
  • Document, maintain, and make improvements to outcome data currently being collected in YWCA client databases
  • Collaborate with CDIS Director and other staff to re-envision YWCA’s outcome data collection practices and procedures
  • Responsible for gathering and reporting on data collected outside of YWCA data systems
  • Identify ways to better show YWCA’s impact using existing data sources
  • Collaborate with Data Analyst to identify and report on potential disparities and inequities within YWCA service areas and programs
  • Data Collection and Evaluation
  • Identify data collection similarities across programs, teams, and service areas
  • Work with leadership to identify key areas of improvement and initial priorities
  • Work with Client Data team and program leadership to develop implementation plans
  • Lead the development and implementation of new agency-wide strategic/RSJ indicators
  • Help lead discovery process, selection, and implementation of new enterprise client data system, with a focus on agency-wide evaluation, impact, and outcome needs 
Must have's to be successful:
  • (5) years of relevant professional experience, data systems, data evaluation experience, and/or
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in social work administration, public administration, sociology, interdisciplinary studies or other related field
  • Very strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to discern data needs and convey technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to anticipate, prepare for, and navigate project risks and make sound judgments with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to interface and work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization: front line staff, program managers and staff, administrative and financial staff, and C-suite leadership
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines while managing multiple projects; skilled in identifying project goals, prioritizing work, and managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams) and comfort with other relevant software and tools (Sharepoint, Zoom, Adobe, etc.)
Hours, Rate, and Benefits
  • Hourly Rate: $32.00 - $38.00
  • Hours: 40 hrs. per week.
  • Excellent benefits package including medical insurance, retirement plan, plus generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave plans
  • At the time of hire, employees may enroll voluntarily in the Fidelity 403b Plan
  • After two years of employment, employees are eligible to participate in the YWCA Retirement Fund
Physical Requirements
  • Continuously performs indoor work including sitting while operating a computer
  • Continuously exchanges information through listening and talking with clients, agency staff, employers, representatives of community organizations, and other individuals in the community
  • Occasionally stands, walks, sits, and climbs in performing duties in the workspace and in the community
  • Frequently reaches and grasps in using computers, headsets, and personal office supplies/equipment.”
