Reporting to the COO & Co Director of Childcare, you'll be coordinating, administering and supporting the After School Program, winter and Spring Breaks & Summer Enrichment Programs. Responsibilities will also include the implementation and execution of the YWCA Princeton After School Program school-age child care philosophy and policies, supervision of her/his designated site, and the submission of reports in a timely fashion to the After School Program Coordinator.

Please note: To qualify for this position you must have 9 credits in early/ childhood education and a minimum Associates degree

Duties include:

Curriculum:

  • Writing lesson plans for daily activities.
  • Writing and submitting to the ASP Coordinator a monthly activity calendar and posts a copy at site.
  • Assigning duties to the assistants and volunteers on a need to know basis.
  • Implementing activities/clubs with the help of the Assistant Teachers.
  • Recommending materials, personnel and space needed, and takes inventory at the site.
  • Keeping ASP staff informed and involved with program-related issues by means of weekly staff meetings.

Records:

  • Maintaining daily student attendance records.
  • Planning weekly menus and keeping a daily count of snacks served.
  • Completing and submitting a monthly activity chart to the ASP Co Director.
  • Completing incident reports as necessary and filing the report with the After School Program Director within 24 hours.
  • Reviewing the accuracy of staff time sheets by days and hours listed and by signing the appropriate section of the form. Submitting staff time sheets to the After School Program office on dates indicated on schedule in a timely manner in order to process payroll.

  • Provides discipline in accordance with the YWCA after School Program policies.
  • Communicates with teachers and parents on current information regarding any upcoming events.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains a display board with the site's license; YWCA After School Program procedures and policies; "And Justice for All" statement; and other materials required by the NJ Office of Licensing
  • Shares responsibilities for the parents' meetings/conferences, staff and parent orientation in the beginning of the school year.
  • Attends monthly meetings for Head Site Supervisors.
  • Attends all training workshops required by the After School Program.
  • Holds staff meetings at the site and reports back to staff on monthly meetings with the ASP Coordinator.
  • Evaluates the Assistant Teachers' job performances and reports to ASP Coordinator
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by the ASP Coordinator.

5. WORK HOURS (P/T position, from 20 - 30 hours/week)

Regular School Week 2:30 - 6:00 PM Monday - Friday

Early Dismissal Days 12:30 - 6:00 PM

School Vacations/ Full Days 7:15 AM - 6:00 PM (730am-6pm)

Preparation and Planning 2.5 hours/week

It is expected that the Head Site Supervisor will arrive before the students in order to prepare the room and materials.

Personal vacations should not be planned to coincide with school vacations when the ASP will be offered (i.e. winter/spring break).

Staff meetings and in-service training may be compensated if pre-approved by the Chief Operating Officer
