YWCA OKC is Hiring a Director of Domestic Violence Advocacy Near Oklahoma, OK

Description:

YWCA Oklahoma City offers victims of domestic violence (DV), sexual assault (SA), and stalking immediate crisis response services through our C.A.R.E. and H.O.P.E programs. The C.A.R.E. programs includes the following services: crisis hotlines, advocacy, emergency residential shelter, and forensic nurse exams. The H.O.P.E. programs includes Healing, Opportunities, Prevention, and Education. YWCA OKC services are provided at our primary location, some staff will be embedded at the Palomar Family Justice Center and local hospitals throughout the metro Oklahoma City area.

YWCA OKC is currently seeking a full time candidate to fill the position of Director of Domestic Violence Advocacy. The selected individual will coordinate and supervise all community advocacy domestic violence and stalking services provided by the YWCA Oklahoma City. You will provide direct oversight and or supervision for program staff and participate in the planning and development of new programs and services.

Requirements:
  • Coordinate the daily operations associated with the provision of Community Advocacy Services
  • Assist in the hiring, training and evaluation of Community Advocacy staff
  • Verify that staff maintains continuing education/annual training as required by position and certifying agency
  • Assist in the development of outcomes measurements for Community Advocacy Programs.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and consultations
  • Participate in monthly Multi-Disciplinary Team and Operations Meetings
  • Actively participates in Director/Coordinator meetings; provides pertinent information to the

Leadership Team in decision-making processes, and implements administrative decisions in a positive supportive manner

  • Serves in a collaborative leadership capacity and works to provide cohesive management, increases understanding of all program aspects of the agency (i.e., finance, policies and procedures, program evaluation, staffing, applicable licensing requirements, community involvement, and funding sources)
  • Demonstrates servant leadership, critical thinking, team work, self-motivation and direction, organizational development and negotiations skills, strong oral and written communication, strong computer skills and resource development
  • Demonstrates the ability to envision and implement change, work collaboratively with diverse communities, work with volunteers and communicate the mission and work of YWCA OKC.

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, or a Masters Degree is preferred. One year’s experience in the field of domestic violence and/or sexual assault is preferred. Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills are required. This is an exempt position. Hours for this position may be irregular and include some evenings and weekend hours.
