YWCA Oklahoma City offers victims of domestic violence (DV), sexual assault (SA), and stalking immediate crisis response services through our C.A.R.E. and H.O.P.E programs. The C.A.R.E. programs includes the following services: Crisis hotlines, Advocacy, emergency Residential shelter, and forensic nurse Exams. The H.O.P.E. programs includes Healing, Opportunities, Prevention, and Education. YWCA OKC services are provided at our primary location, through staff embedded at the Palomar Family Justice Center and local hospitals throughout the metro Oklahoma City area.

The YWCA Oklahoma City is currently seeking a full time Director of Community Engagement. We are seeking a dynamic professional who is organized, thinks independently and critically, use appropriate judgement, and ensure quality work. Strong listening, verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required. This person will increase community awareness of the issues surrounding domestic violence and sexual assault, in addition to YWCA OKC services, programs, and volunteer opportunities. Facilitate Crisis Services Training for staff, interns, and volunteers. This position will work at the YWCA OKC Main Campus.

Requirements

-Coordinate with supervisor and Staff Directors to implement strategies to recruit direct and indirect service area volunteers and interns. 

-Coordinate with Staff Directors and supervisors to continuously assess and update volunteer needs.

-Coordinate and provide Volunteer Orientation and Crisis Services Training to all volunteers, staff and interns using established approved curriculum. 

-Manage and maintain Learning Management System including sourcing training, facilitating training, and documenting training for volunteers. 

-Create, coordinate and maintain all aspects of the YWCA Volunteer Program, including recruitment, retention, training and placement of all volunteers.

-Maintain collaborative working relationships with program stakeholders.

-Manage YLead and Allies young professionals groups.

-Assist with major fundraising events (i.e., Purple Sash Gala, Engaging Men’s Breakfast, Galentine’s, Reduce the Odds, Women Who Care Share Luncheon) & other events to include: donor appreciation, engagement/PR or specified agency efforts.

-Represent the YWCA at community events and speaking engagements, as appropriate and directed by supervisor.

-Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and work as a team member with YWCA staff and administration. 

Bachelor’s Degree and strong listening, verbal and written communication skills are required. Experience in community relations and strong knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault preferred. This is an exempt employee position. Hours for this position may be irregular and include some evening and weekend hours. Physical ability to lift (up to) fifteen pounds is necessary.
