Description

Financial Literacy CoachCompensation: $30 per hourPart-time work hours: 25 hours weekly

Position Summary:

The Financial Literacy Coach will provide financial education and coaching to individuals of all ages to improve their financial literacy. The coach will empower participants to make informed financial decisions by helping them develop financial skills, set goals, create budgets, manage debt, build wealth, and promote financial awareness.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Conduct individual and group financial literacy workshops and seminars for target audience ranging from school-age to adults;
  • Provide ongoing awareness in financial awareness to participants; 
  • Empower participants in developing personalized financial plans and goals;
  • Educate participants on basic financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, investing, and credit management;
  • Educate participants to track their expenses, analyze personal spending habits, and identify areas for improvement;
  • Monitor and track participant’s progress towards their financial goals and provide ongoing support and guidance;
  • Collaborate with other organizations and community partners to promote financial literacy initiatives;
  • Remain up to date on best practices on financial literacy and resources;
  • Identify resources and tools to aid with participant’s financial goals; 
  • Collaborate with other financial leaders to leverage YWCA’s commitment towards unlimited opportunities through financial literacy education;
  • Research and identify speakers for financial literacy events, and coordinate all event details; 
  • Conduct presentations and position the role as a subject-matter expert in financial literacy workshops, and individual and group financial coaching;
  • Serve as the VITA site manager, during tax season. Collaborate with VITA to coordinate participation in the program;
  • Achieve a goal of serving roughly 300 households with VITA in 2025.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field 
  • Must be current with all required training or have the ability to complete training as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of work experience in financial coaching, counseling, or education, or related area required;
  • Strong knowledge of personal finance principles and practices; 
  • Able to present in a group setting;
  • Demonstrated skills in creating presentation modules. 

License or Certifications: 

  • Active Driver’s License or reliable transportation required. 

Schedule: 

  • The Financial Literacy Coach is an exempt position. Work schedule: hybrid, Monday - Friday. Due to the nature of the work, evening hours may be required;

Travel: 

  • Some travel may be required.
