Position Summary:
NIH ComPASS is responsible for coordinating activities associated with the NIH funded ComPASS project to implement and evaluate structural interventions associated with nutrition and food security in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. Activities include coordinating a health equity research assembly, facilitating multisectoral partnerships, completing proposed structural intervention related project, submitting project proposals through IRB and YKHC human subjects for approval, evaluating program interventions and activities, and reporting out to NIH and internal and external other program partners.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Completion of a bachelor's degree in relevant field through an accredited university. Master's Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience: Two (2) years relevant experience preferred. Demonstrated experience collaborating with a variety of disciplines for project completion. Background in health policy, food security, nutrition, public health, community outreach, program development, and supplemental nutrition programs preferred.
Equipment/Tools: Work in a typical office, hospital, and village clinic setting. Comprehensive knowledge of PC computers. Requires travel to villages via small plane/sub-arctic conditions, moderate lifting of equipment, occasional long working hours.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge base in the field of nutrition, public policy, food service community outreach, and public health. Cross cultural communication skills essential. Bi-lingual (Yup'ik/English) preferred.
