Location: Colusa County Campus - Williams, CA
Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the TRIO Director, perform and implement a variety of support solutions for the TRIO Programs (SSS, SSS-ESL and Upward Bound) and act as a liaison between faculty, staff and students at the Colusa County Outreach Facility.
Essential Duties Summary:REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Serve as first point of contact for students and provide information and assistance for TRiO Programs. (E)
Communicate with faculty, staff, students and others to provide liaison assistance with TRiO Programs. (E)
Explain program services to students, staff, other schools and community agencies. (E)
Recruit, assist in the selection of, train and provide work direction to tutors and student assistants. (E)
Interview, hire, train and provide work direction and work schedules to tutors and student assistants; verify and monitor hours worked and submit to Director. (E)
Maintain and audit financial records related to assigned offices, monitor budgets, disburse checks and assist in budget preparation as assigned; monitor the allocation and expenditure of funds for tutoring. (E)
Prepare and maintain statistical reports as required. (E)
Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing services to recruit and retain program participants. (E)
Write, edit and distribute newsletters, flyers for services provided to our student, outcomes and achievement to be distributed to students, staff and agencies as appropriate. (E)
Monitor, compose and update web content for TRiO Programs. (E)
Participate in a variety of related on and off campus meetings; attend related professional meetings and workshops as approved by the Director. (E)
Maintain current knowledge of federal rules, regulations and guidelines related to TRiO programs. (E)
Assist in coordination of TRiO activities such as but not limited to the Summer Academy, campus tours, and workshops. (E)
Assist participants in completing required college and program forms as needed. (E)
Assist with printed materials; including proof reading and spell checking. (M)
Provide and maintain an organized and professional office environment. (M)
Perform related duties as assigned. (M)
ABILITY TO:
Coordinate program efforts with related outside agencies (1st responder notifications)
Maintain financial and statistical records
Answer telephones and greet the public courteously; work with the public in a professional and courteous manner
Operate office machines including a computer and applicable software
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with District employees, external contact and the public
Maintain records and prepare reports
Operate a computer terminal to enter data, maintain records and generate reports
Train and provide work direction to others
Learn District and specific program organization, operations, policies and objectives
Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Work independently with little direction
Plan and organize work
Understand and follow oral and written instructions
Laws, rules and regulations related to assigned activities
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: an associates degree in social science, psychology or closely related field and two years of experience working with disadvantaged students in a college student services program.

Range/Step: $3,133.85 - $ 3,455.07/mo. - Range 24
Salary Range: (Range 24, CSEA Salary Schedule; initial placement will not be higher than Step 3 of the salary schedule, the top step for this position is $4,617.52/mo.)
Benefits Information:
PART-TIME (less than .60 FTE): Part-time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits. The District does however; provide the employee prorated leaves including vacation, sick leave and paid holidays. Employees less than .50 FTE contribute to an Alternative Retirement System (Apple). Employees whose, FTE is between .50 and .60 contribute to the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS).
BENEFITS/SALARY : The District offers a comprehensive benefits package for employees and dependents for positions whose FTE is .60 or higher, valued at over $20,000 annually with a $310.50 monthly out of pocket expense to employees dependents for their monthly medical premiums. The package includes health, dental, vision, one (1) life insurance policy and an Employee Assistance program. Additional benefits include contributions to the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) which is integrated with Social Security, 457/403b options, Vacation days - 7.33 hrs per month for the first year, 96 hours of vacation leave per years 1-5, 12 sick days and 20 holidays.
SALARY : Step 1 - $37,606.20 /YR to Step 3 41,460.84 /YR. - Range 24, CSEA Salary Schedule, initial placement will not be higher than Step 3 of the salary schedule, the top step for this position is $53,010.25 /YR.
This position is anticipated to be assigned to the Colusa County Campus but may be assigned temporarily or permanently within the District.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Categorically funded positions are contingent upon funding . In accordance to Board Policy, smoking is restricted in many areas of the Yuba Community College District. Woodland Community College is a tobacco free campus.
WORK DAY, WORK WEEK, and WORK YEAR: The District has the right to establish work day, work week, work year; hours of positions within the District may vary.
