Job Summary:
Reporting to the Partners, the Senior Tax Manager be responsible for leading and managing multiple operations of the tax practice area and to deliver quality tax services to our clients. The ideal candidate will oversee client tax planning, preparation of tax returns, providing tax guidance to clients and colleagues, while ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. Duties / Responsibilities:
Manage internal tax team, to include providing oversight of the coordination of duties assigned to staff, in addition to supervising, mentoring, training, disciplining and assessing performance of staff, in an effort to maintain a high level or proficiency within the taxation process;
Manage existing client relationships and build new relationships, while acting as the point person for inquiries therefrom;
Provide advice to clients on bespoke and innovative tax planning, tax return reviews, identify and mitigate risks, develop strategies, provisions, policies, tax savings identification / implementation and conduct, coordinate and manage audits;
Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies, conduct tax audits, conduct research;
Maintain tax balances on general ledger;
Prepare all tax documentation and handle information data requests in compliance with relevant federal and state laws within a tight timeframe.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; CPA designation;
Master's degree in Taxation or related field a plus;
Proven leadership experience as a Tax Manager in a similar role;
Exceptional knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns;
Astute tax planning / compliance, preparation and tax law knowledge / skills;
Experience with ProSystems FX, QuickBooks and CCH products, a plus;
Exceptional written and oral communication, interpersonal, attentive listening and customer service skills;
Exceptional organizational, time management, attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, problem-solving and follow-through skills
Ability to work effectively alone and within a collaborative team environment.
Compensation:
$100,000 - $145,000 DOE, for this full-time, exempt position.
Benefits:
56 hours of annual paid vacation during 1st year, which begins accruing on start date; increasing to 96 hours thereafter; eligibility for use is after 60 days of employment;
40 hours of annual paid sick time during 1st year of employment, allotted as 24 hours by the 120th day of employment and remaining 16 hours by 200th day of employment;
Medical, dental and vision insurance paid 90% for the employee;
401(K) with annual company match of 3% - 5%;
$50K life insurance paid by company for employee;
7 paid public holidays.
Working Hours:
8:00AM – 5:30PM Monday – Friday
Location:
Santa Maria, CA – onsite position with option of hybrid work schedule, following training period.
