The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently accepting applications for Group Exercise Fitness Instructor. This is a part-time on-site role.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic urban, growing organization, just 5 miles west of New York City in the waterfront city of Perth Amboy, NJ. The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We enthusiastically serve over 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area in our community building initiatives through Healthy Living, Youth Development, and Social Responsibility. 

The Group Exercise Fitness Instructor will be responsible for conducting safe, effective and enjoyable exercise classes by providing leadership, up-to-date quality instruction and high energy motivation. The Group Exercise Fitness Instructor will observe and discusses individual progress with participants as well as develop a rapport with members and respond to questions related to fitness.

Requirements

• High school Diploma
• CPR and First Aid (must obtain within first 6 months of employment)
• Must have basic knowledge of fitness or equivalent work/education experience; as well as have at minimum 25 hours of practical experience as a fitness class instructor. 
• Ability to lead a fitness class; motivate and educate members in the field of physical fitness; ability to respond to safety and emergency situations; ability to set up, move, and store equipment.
• Ability to communicate to a diverse group of people.
