The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently accepting applications/resumes for a Mental Health - Project Manager.  We are seeking a Project Manager who is familiar with and understands the importance of emotional, social and mental well-being for a community and is dedicated to helping others.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic urban, growing organization just 5 miles west of New York City in the water front city of Perth Amboy. The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We enthusiastically serve over 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area in our community building initiatives through Healthy Living, Youth Development and Social Responsibility.

Under the supervision of the Director of Mental Health Services, the Project Manager will be responsible for the supporting departmental efforts to grow our mental health service platform to better meet community needs, bridging a gap to mental wellness. 

The Project Manager will have excellent verbal and nonverbal communication abilities as they will often serve as a main point of contact for internal and external department inquiries and referrals. The Project Manager will show excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities as they provide support to meet the recruitment, networking and organizational needs of the department.

This is a part-time, nonexempt position. 20 hours per week. Some evening and weekend availability required.

Requirements

A.  Experience:

  • 2 years prior related experience 
  • Previous experience in a non-profit, or community-based organization a plus. 

B. Education/Certifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in related field. 

C. Skills: 

  • Bilingual – English/Spanish preferred 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent suite 
  • Excellent planning, organizing and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be reliable and punctual. 
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team. 

D. Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent verbal & nonverbal communication across diverse populations. 
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Familiar with the culture and mission of the organization
