Young Electric LLC is Hiring an Electrical Estimator Near Portland, OR

Our Portland-based electrical contract company is expanding! We are looking to fill our team with experienced estimators. Our small business provides our electricians with all the support you need - so you can come to work, do what you do best, and let our organized office team handle the rest!

We are looking for a diligent Estimator to prepare accurate electrical estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. You will provide knowledge of costs and benefits to our customers. The goal is to provide detailed estimates so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth.

If you are currently an electrician in the process of getting your Oregon License please feel free to apply, we can provide you with an Electrical Estimator job until you receive your license in which we can make you an electrician on our team! We aim to see growth within our company.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the project/program and its requirements
  • Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
  • Gather first-hand information from sites, warehouses, or other venues
  • Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
  • Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
  • Perform risk analysis
  • Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions, etc.)
  • Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.)
  • Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.)

Skills

  • Proven experience as an electrical estimator or similar position (Past electrician)
  • Familiarity with financial and project management principles
  • In-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
  • Thoroughness and reliability
  • Excellent organizational skills
