Position Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Full Time Time (FT)
Department: Obstetrics
Reports to: Director, Obstetrics

  • Patient-focused: York General is a small 25-critical access hospital, including 3 birthing suites. You can be sure to give your patients the attention they deserve.
What You'll Do
  • Labor and Delivery nurse is a shared position with Med/Surg. The RN will do three weeks Labor and Delivery and three weeks Med/Surg. During OB weeks, one of the three weeks is on call and one call weekend. Med/Surg weeks will be full time night shift with one weekend.
  • Communicates with physicians about changes in patient's clinical condition including: fetal monitoring and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Utilizes the nursing process in assessing and evaluating patient needs and problems, planning and implementing nursing care, evaluating patient response and progress toward outcomes and revising the plan of care accordingly.
  • Provides direct patient care and implements physician orders (administers medications, treatments, IV therapy; meets needs for hygiene, nutrition, positioning and activity; applies other interventions appropriate to patient and SO needs).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of fetal monitoring. Identifies FHR patterns and treats appropriately.
  • Assesses neonate at delivery and performs neonatal resuscitation as needed. Documents assessments, evaluations, and interventions; provides other verbal, written and automated communication needed.
What You Need
  • Good communication skills, flexibility, and a caring attitude
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail
  • This position required graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a current license in the state of Nebraska.
  • This position also requires BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications. CLC is preferred.
