ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Reports to the School Age Program Director. Manages, directs, and coordinates the school age afterschool program for assigned location(s). Ensures high quality program, curriculum, and program activities.
• Trains, develops, and directs personnel for assigned location(s). Executes school age training plans. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff to achieve goals.
• Assures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as they relate to the program and location, including compliance with state licensing standards, maintenance of proper records/department files and posting of daily activities, menus, licensing information, parent communication, volunteer activities, and daily written lesson plans with staff assignments for specific duties.
• Ensures the YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
• Facilitate communication with all staff, building administration, school teachers, parents, and students.
• Maintains required program records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Responsibilities

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a child-related field.
• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
• Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
