Membership Coordinator 

The Membership Coordinator, under the direction and supervision of the Membership Director, delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, helps supervise the membership staff team, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the service area.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member growth and retention.
• Help recruit, hire, train, and supervise all Member Service staff and volunteers, including scheduling. 
• Schedule Member Service Team as needed by Membership Director. 
• Help review and evaluate staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
• Assist in internal and community marketing efforts, including social media, to maximize membership and program growth. 
• Help develop and monitor membership budget to meet fiscal objectives.
• Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships.
• Builds relationships with staff team & members; helps staff team & members connect with one another and to the YMCA. 
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. 
• Assists with Active Older Adult Program. 
• Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services. 
• Incorporate and promote all association site safety programs while performing job functions 
• Helps to ensure cleanliness of the work area and facility. 
• Dispense towels; may monitor the locker rooms and restroom as required.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification or within 90 days of hire
• Must be 18 years or older
• High School Diploma
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Strong character values; communication skills
• Flexible working schedule including morning, evenings and weekends
• Proficient in basic computer skills
