POSITION SUMMARY:
Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA child care program(s).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Manages, directs and coordinates the Early Learning Center, school age child care and before/after school programs for assigned location(s). Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
2. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
3. Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position. Ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected. Supports and budgets for healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality.
4. Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas. Ensures that
YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
5. Assures compliance and regulation standards with LEAD to obtain and retain a quality rating accreditation program for our child care center.
6. Provides leadership to the CACFP program.
7. Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living.
8. Develops and maintains relationships with state child care licensing agency, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
9. Provides staff leadership for annual fund raising campaign and committees as assigned.
10. Maintains proper records/department files.
11. Organizes special events for parents. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities.
12. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
13. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.

SPECIFIC TASKS:
1. Handles DHS billing, private pay billings, collections and deposits.
2. Keep up to date records of children’s physical and immunization record expirations.
3. Implement and manage weekly employee schedules.
4. Ensure that all employee trainings are up to date with licensing standards.
5. Assist Marketing Director with marketing efforts.
6. Handle funding requests from grant organization opportunities and other outside sources.
7. Stay current on all federal and state regulations pertaining to child care.
8. Maintain local and state licensing protocols to ensure program standards are met.
9. Maintain a quality rating through appropriate accreditation organization.
10. Monitor curriculum used.
11. Assist the Director in the enrollment of new children.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
2. Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical functions.
3. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
4. Must complete the following trainings: CPR-PR/AED/First Aid Certifications or equivalent certifications approved by the YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens Training or equivalent training approved by the YMCA Approved Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Certification Compete a full background check Emergency procedure training All DHS approved staff trainings
5. Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
6. Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
