POSITION SUMMARY:Under the guidance of the Program Director, the Program Coordinator shall be directly responsible for the supervision of all programs at YMCA Camp Ohiyesa including summer camp, outdoor education, user groups, off-site trips, facilities and food service. The Program Coordinator will also assist the Program Director with the operational details of all other programs and all external communications.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ensure that camp environment, equipment and supplies are adequate, appropriate and safe.Supervise approximately 30 - 35 part time staff and 20 program volunteers.Supervise and train staff, including international staff in all Ohiyesa programs.Schedule hours, oversee planning, and provide in-service training for staff.Maintain/Monitor standards of ACA and State of Michigan DHS.Inventory and monitor program equipment and carry out basic repairs as needed.Continue professional development through training programs and further education.Act as point of contact for group rentals (includes group sales and customer service).Coordinate relevant guest information with other departments (food service, facilities, Camp Ohiyesa).Drive campers and staff to offsite trips and carry out airport pick-ups.Oversee with the planning and execution of our offsite trips.Assist the Food Service director with management and day-today operations where required.Perform other tasks as deemed necessary be Program Director.QUALIFICATIONS:1-2 years of experience working in a leadership role in a residential camp setting required.Certification in First Aid and CPR required.Must currently hold a Michigan Chauffeurs Driving license or be willing to obtain within two weeks of employment. Must be capable driving minibuses and attached trailers.Must have ability to focus on multiple projects, excellent customer service skills and be a team player. Strong organizational skills, time management and experience managing staff required.Must be able to implement and evaluate all programs conducted by YMCA Camp Ohiyesa and must be able to develop overall guidelines for programs/learning activities and work with Group Leaders to develop individual schedules.Working experience in CampDocs / Active.net software strongly preferredWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
