Position Overview: As a Summer Learning Academy Teacher

• Responsible for planning, implementing, and leading the educational activities of the SLA program under the supervision of the SLA program Liaison.
• Guide the academic and social development of children, ensuring a safe, enriching, and healthy learning environment that promotes progress and learning.
• Prepare lesson plans for Math and Literacy activities.
• Work with the site director/liaison to administer the Pre/Post Test for literacy and math assessments.
• Attend all required training and staff meetings.
• Instruct and facilitate lesson plans and activities and lead the classroom according to the program outline and quality requirements.
• Ensure a 1:10 ratio is maintained throughout the literacy and math portion of the day.
• Proactively manage classroom behavior.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students (e.g. inclusion accommodations, language strategies).
• Monitor and report to the Liaison and Lead Enrichment Leader weekly attendance, student progress, and behavior issues.

Requirements:

• Current state teaching certification
• A minimum of two years teaching experience in early childhood or elementary education
• Bachelor’s degree required
