DESCRIPTION:

The YMCA is currently taking application for energetic, confident, and friendly staff to work in the sports department as Sports Camp Aides.

The Sports Aide will help oversee and run the camps we have.

The Sports Aide will set-up and take-down of equipment as well as help to ensure the cleanliness of the facility or field.

In addition, the Sports Aide will assist the Sports Director with any other duties as assigned.

Days & Hours

The days and schedule varies depending on the number of camps and clinics we are running.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must understand the basic principles of sports programs such as basketball, soccer, volleyball.
• Incumbent should be able to communicate with players, coaches and parents effectively, maintain a courteous, friendly attitude and be a positive role model.
• Ability to make sound decisions and judgments even when distracted by noise and activity.
• Position may require repetitive stooping and bending and the candidate should be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time is also required.
• Visual acuity is required for monitoring potential hazards for children.
• Must be energetic, enthusiastic and have the motivation to share that energy with all the sports participants.
• Must possess a strong understanding of the YMCA and its mission as well as have a strong desire to deliver a quality program to children and families in the community.
• Must attend provided trainings including First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Awareness, and other trainings as outlined by the YMCA.
