Under the direction of the Program Director, the Coordinator supervises, develops and implements the overall daily operation of child and family programming for the Downtown branch. Provides direct supervision of a group of children in child watch area. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates Child and Family Programs to include: Child Watch, Day Camp, Birthday Parties, Miracle League, Super Skills Triathlon, Parents Night Out, Lock-ins and other family programs.
• Assist planning and facilitation of Youth Fitness Classes alongside Wellness Team.
• Coordinates staff, including assisting with hiring and scheduling.
• Supervises a group of children while adhering to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
• Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
• Serves as liaison with program partners.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings.
• Maintains accurate and timely records, including sign-in and sign-out logs.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
• Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 2 years experience working with children required
• Minimum 21 years of age
• Ability to relate well to all ages of members and program participants
• 2 years supervisory experience preferred
• Must display high degree of professionalism and customer service
