The Y is seeking Youth Sports Referees for our Spring and Summer programs.

The referee will officiate and supervise assigned youth sports games (soccer, volleyball, etc). Referees provide a safe, fun, and structured environment for youth participants. They promote and enforce safe play, enforce game rules, all while providing great customer experience of sportsmanship and fair play.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Officiates games according to YMCA rules.
• Builds relationships with coaches.
• Secures volunteers to help keep clock, books
• Ensures that games start on time and begin with prayer.
• Discusses and helps clarify rules for coaches and players when necessary.
• Report to supervisor any problems or incidents; handles issues within approved YMCA guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum age of 16.
• Knows and understands YMCA rules for particular sport.
• Must attend YMCA referee training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations.
