Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our team. The selected candidate will be tasked with creating and managing BI and analytics solutions to transform data into actionable insights. This role demands a solid foundation in data analysis and business strategy, paired with exceptional analytical and communication skills. A keen business sense and a knack for problem-solving are also crucial. The goal is to enhance our BI system, empowering us to make informed decisions.

Hiring Range: $88,000 - $92,000

Responsibilities:
  • System Development and Deployment: Develop and deploy systems for business intelligence, reporting, data warehousing, and integration with enterprise applications. Implement user access controls and data security measures as needed.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Own the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc., to support key business decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for system improvements, develop alternative solutions, and present these for management approval and implementation.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct system testing, identify defects, perform necessary fixes, and re-execute tests to ensure results are accurate.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with management and end-users to understand business requirements and deliver effective BI and reporting solutions.
  • Technical Development: Develop and test database scripts, stored procedures, triggers, functions, pipelines, and other back-end processes for system integration and ETL/ELT processes, contributing to the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Data Modeling: Assist with tabular and multi-dimensional modeling and the development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Dashboard and Report Design: Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports, ensuring documentation of processes, reports, applications, and procedures aligns with department policy.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation for all BI solutions.
  • Support and Ad-Hoc Reporting: Provide ongoing support for all BI solutions and generate ad-hoc reports to address end-user queries.

Qualifications:
  • Education: B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience with an OLAP database (SQL Server preferred), Azure Synapse or similar tools, and various Business Intelligence tools (preferably Microsoft Power BI).
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Data Warehousing principles (Kimball and other methodologies).
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, innovate, and solve problems analytically. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for cross-functional team collaboration.
