Ymca of Greater Omaha is Hiring a Downtown YMCA Executive Director Near Omaha, NE
Position will be posted until May 31, 2024Position SummaryThis position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Executive Director leads all aspects of branch programs and services, ensuring our cause and culture is instilled in our strategy and staff development. Essential Functions
Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of leadership staff.
Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meets or exceeds budget targets.
Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with Omaha Public Schools, other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service area.
Coordinates the development of the branch board and committees. Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the branch.
Directs the financial development activities of the branch.
Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
Develops and directs high quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
Directs branch marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate benefit to the community.
Serves as a member of Y leadership and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent
3 or more years successfully leading people &/or operations, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development
Successful community engagement experience, including development of volunteers
Successful fundraising experience
YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred
Complete within 30 days of hire: YMCA cause & culture training; membership-specific training; Child Abuse Prevention Training; BLS CPR; First Aid; Emergency Oxygen Administration (provided by YMCA)
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check
